OK. I'm good and mad! Went online this morning to book flight to Grenada for January 2011 (spending NY in Grenada then flying to Bequia for friends birthday on 5th Jan). The fare is astronomical we all know that but here in mid-Atlantic we don't have much choice. Anyway, I bit the bullet and was online booking the flight, I had entered my credit card details and pressed 'Purchase' when a little message popped up - 'This fare has changed while you were making your purchase, this can happen due to seat availability' - Seat availability - this flight is in freakin January 2011 not next week!!! The price of the tkt increased by $25 pp while I was booking it!
Anyone have an email address at AA where I can complain and vent?

I had an E add from AA this morning stating a savings of $300 if linked with a four night stay at a hotel in Grenada (Mount Cinnamon). I linked on the hotel site. It looks like about $400 per night. With savings like that I could go broke. The place is next to the Flamboyant I think. Some with coins might like the deal. _________________ Laughter is the best medicine. |

Tim,
We saw Mount Cinnamon when we were down Island in January for JumP Up, it looks great but at $400 a night, I don't think so!!! Flamboyant enjoys the same view and the same stretch of beach and we are staying there in Dec '10/Jan '11 for $180 per night including full breakfast!

Kim and I toured Mt. Cinnamon. The $400/night unit sleeps 4 - 1 bedroom and a sleep sofa. So if 2 couples shared it wouldn't be bad. It also has a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. We stayed there when it was Cinnamon Hill and really liked the place. The view is fantastic!! _________________ Tuck's far superior half Sandra[url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/]

I am no fan of American, actually avoid them whenever I can, but this thread got me wondering about their frequent flyer rules. Did you know that you can fly Miami/Grenada round trip for 25,000 miles? woo hoo!!!!! We had just barely enough miles so I booked the non-stop flights. Long drive to Miami but it will be well worth it and who knows, maybe I find an Air Tran deal to get us to Miami. Now all I have to do is figure out how to put up my ticker for the count down.
Come sail with us Oct 31st!

I just booked our October trip to Grenada on AA using ff miles and we are flying out of Washington Dulles for 25,000 ff miles each. Not bad! Of course, we have a horrible layover in Miami but I don't mind spending $100 for the Admiral's Club when I'm flying on ff miles. _________________ Tuck's far superior half Sandra[url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/]

Well, AA is now more than 1600 per ticket from Hawaii to Grenada. I have enough miles for one mileage ticket (35,000) and almost enough for another. It is actually cheaper to buy the extra miles than spend the $1667 for a ticket! Airfare are going up everywhere.
Instead of driving to Miami try flying Southwest to Fort Lauderdale and then take the shuttle between airports. It might be the most cost-effective, and burn some wait time as well.
