I just read the following on Grenada Trip Advisor forum:
"I also take 2 Brewers Yeast tablets 3 times a day for 10 days before we travel and all the time I am away. Something in the Vitamin B content alters the chemistry of the blood lightly which makes your skin less attractive to biting insects. The Vitamin B is good for you anyway, helping in the formation of red blood cells."
Sounds like it is worth a try! _________________ Tuck's far superior half Sandra[url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/]

Dengue Fever made world news again this weekend. It seems to be a growing topic. This time they were talking about Texas. Last week it was Key West. "They" say most likely bitten while asleep. The maids leave hotel room doors open, while they clean each day. In other words, all the Deet we had on didn't save us, unless you put it on to sleep. Might not be a bad idea _________________ No matter where you go, there you are! |

It is indeed a growing topic. http://www.denguevirusnet.com/aedes-aegypti.html .
Useful stuff from the article: it is a day-feeding mosquito, it likes to attack feet and ankles, and it is nearly silent. Nasty little bugger, for sure.
DEET is the hot setup, no doubt- the higher the concentration, the better. I'll be putting it on to sleep next time I'm down, for sure. Shoot, nearly need to do that here: we've had a wet July, and are copiously supplied with the little bastards, and we have West Nile to contend with... _________________ All I ask is a tall ship and a star to sail her by... |

Just got in my new supply of Avon Skin So Soft Bug Guard Plus, Expedition Insect Repellant with SPF 30. It has kept me from getting bitten by the nasty little guys even in the jungle in Panama.
I swear by it and would not go into any of the islands without it.
We have West Nile in the Sacramento area as well.
At least, my skin will be soft!! _________________ Kay

Once you zoom into the Caribbean, there is an extensive set of news reports for most of the islands.
