Jacquie,

This is a sailing list that goes WAAAAAY back to the heydays of WJBC, but was never connected with WJBC. I first heard of it as Kahuna's Sailing List ... I have no idea who originally organized it ... but they did a very nice job. You could list on any of the WJBC ships on one site.

Scott (I have NO idea what his full name is) is the latest person to take over keeping the list running. Check it out.

Saucy

There is some history to the sailing list. Lee Burke(no connection to the WJBC Burkes) was an avid windjammer and he initiated the sailing list. Unfortunately Lee had a heart attack and died under a palm tree on Palm Island while sailing on WJBC 50th Anniversary Cruise (1997). Tuck asked his family if he could maintain the sailing list which he did for several years. Then Kahuna took over. When he retired from maintaining the list Tom Sparks took it over and revamped it, making it much easier for the person maintaining it to do so. Then Tom retired from maintaining the list, and Scott took over. Since the demise of WJBC, the list has sort of floundered but I think we need to give it new life with Diamant!!!!!!!! Lee's old list is still out there somewhere as his family has kept up his website.

Thanks Sandra for the history of the list. I knew bits and pieces, but not the whole story.
