Home safely at midnight after 12 delightful days on Diamant. We were treated like royalty. www.lobsterpizzainparadise.blogspot.com is in rough draft form. Hope to have it fully completed in 2 weeks.

This trip far & away exceeded the old Barefoot Windjammer experience and our expectations.

Yes to first IWJ. No to first windjammer. Did one with the old Barefoot in 1990 on Mandalay. IWJ is doing a far better job.

I have a couple questions if you don't mind.

First, at the model boat shop what were the prices for some of the smaller boats in the picture?

Second, it seamed like the itinerary for each day was the same, i.e. you stayed docked for the night at the previous days location, sailed in the morning, afternoon at the next stop, evening on the boat and stayed docked there for the night.

So I guess this question is for all jammers, is that pretty typical?

Thanks.

Typical, yes. And perfect, I say.
Sailing in the am, enjoy the island, water, beaches, bars from afternoon on.
And if you're on Diamant or Vela, lots of true sailing as long as there is wind. Fabulous!!! Sagitta is a motor sailor, she motors more than sails.

Depends on the islands you visit as to whether they will be mostly tropical paradises with lots of flora, fauna, sandy beaches and crystal clear waters, some funky bars and lots of friendly people. Or whether they will be more "cosmopolitan" with small shops, open-air restaurants, activities to do, tours to take....and sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and friendly people. OR, whether there will be a mix.

Either way: we love it!!

Steve, Looked at your blog. looks like you had a super time. I did the same sail last year for 12 days. It was my second 12 day on Diamant. I sail again May 2016 for two 6/6 trips on VELA in BVI.

a couple questions :

1. Looks like you had 6 people on the ship for the cruise ?

2. what type/brand/model u/w camera were you using.

3. was anyone fishing. I fished on both trips and only got a wahoo on my first trip .

Looking forward to your fished "blog"

Paul

Yes, 6 of us. Friends from California & our new friends from Great Britain.

2. what type/brand/model u/w camera were you using.
Fuji. Bought it at Costco for $150 on sale. 16MP with a 16 G card.

3. was anyone fishing. I fished on both trips and only got a wahoo on my first trip .
Only the crew. They caught one MahiMahi which we ate.

Looking forward to your fished "blog"

Paul

I have done a bit of editing to the blog. Philip's name spelling was corrected to Phillip. Several typos were corrected, & I have added a few videos. Sent IWJ an email giving them permission to link to it.
