Can anyone recommend a driver to hire for a day to take three people around the island for a day-tour? I did one years ago but can't remember any contact info. I know we checked out waterfalls, amazing views, etc. etc. We will be staying in Marigot Bay, if that matters. Thanks!

You can contact the same company that provides Airport to Hotel transfers. Their drivers are very personable and knowledgeable and you will get a price quote before you confirm the hire. If you don't have the Pre-cruise Information website available, go to: www.islandwindjammers.net and look under the "Transfers" tab for St Lucia Airport Shuttle and Tours

If you go to the Vela forum and scroll down there is a thread called "Marigot Bay Lodging" where there is some discussion about the various hotels around the bay. There is a range of prices and amenities. We stayed at the Marigot Bay Beach Club which I think is middle of the road. We found it very pleasant and would stay there again.

Does anyone know if there is a place to buy groceries, snacks, beer, and wine at Marigot Bay(at a reasonable price).
If not, where is the best place?

:thanks

There is a grocery store at the marina in Marigot Bay. It has some fresh produce, some frozen meat and fish, as well as a selection of other regular groceries, beer, liquor and wine, sunscreen, insect repellent, toothpaste, etc. As for price, it caters to the yachty crowd so it's probably more expensive than where the locals shop. We bought cheese and crackers etc for our lunches for the 3 days we were at the MB beach club before boarding and it wasn't outrageous. Friends of ours that were there recently had their taxi driver stop at a grocery store on the way from the airport. They probably saved on their groceries but they had to contend with their shopping bags as well as their luggage when going across to the hotel on the little ferry/shuttle.
