Ok, my countdown app says 152 days til Jeff and I are in Grenada for a reunion with our favorite IWJ Island Girl. That's just 5 months to go....whoohoo!
Who else will be on board for the TGiving cruise?

16 days and counting down.....altho we'll be taking off 2 weeks from today and spending a couple of nights at True Blue resort.
Supposedly, Diamant is full....and her first unveiling since her big makeover, if all goes as planned. whistling

Yep. There was discussion about that volcano on the board last summer, when Kick Em Jenny was in a foul mood. She seems to have settled down, unless this dang election gets her stirred up again....LOL!

Kick 'Em Jenny is located so far below the surface that activity can only be detected by gas bubbles. Besides, no ship goes directly over the volcano for the reasons stated in the Wikipedia article. It's been explained to me that the turbulence encountered in that area has more to do with the ocean currents swirling around the 2 islands and a bit of an upwelling caused by water passing over Jenny and being pushed toward the surface, much like the activity of clouds around mountains.

In October/November, 2014, Dr. Robert Ballard and the NOAA Ocean Explorers spent weeks surveying Kick 'Em Jenny and their videos were available as live feeds on the internet. They checked out the site of an underwater avalanche, found evidence of 2 live (ie. discharging gas bubbles) caldera and no evidence of recent lava releases. Apparently, Jenny likes to blow off steam, but isn't much on substance. At this rate, she will never achieve becoming a viable land mass.

I was watching that story with Captain Dr Ballard US NAVY . It made to look up the information. These gas bubbles they think are the same thing that caused the Bermuda triangle ship and panes to disappear. Hadnt heard about Kickin Jenny before and if I didn't sail Diamant I more than likely wouldn't have thought much of the story. It is surely an HOT area that I wouldn't be sailing near. You never know with Mother Nature .
