As always I have the school children as part of my itinerary. This time I'm bringing 36 cricket uniforms for the local students of Union Island! I hope they will give us a demonstration of a game I'm not familiar with!

From ALex; teacher on Union Island:

Hoping all is well with you by the blessing of God.

We (students and staff) of the Stephanie Primary School are glad to hear from you and are here with open arms to welcome you back.

Thanks for the advance notice on your schedule. Our school will be closing for two weeks, from the 25th of March to the 11th of April, so your timing will be perfect. I will inform the rest of the staff and students, so that we can prepare a welcoming package.

The attached photos were taken in November of last year, this school year's literacy day celebration. We got the other primary school on the island involved. It began with a march from Ashton to Clifton at the Mulzac Square. There were drama, skits, singing, reading, creative hat competition, refreshments, etc. Next year I am hoping to get the preschoolers from the various preschools on the island involved. One grand celebration.

Just sent to Alex @ Stephanie Browne Primary School Union Island:

Cricket is not a game most Americans understand. Could your students give me and some of my sail mates a demo? I will be bringing with me a special gift for the children of Union Island. I could use a phone number to Skype you if possible. We are now in the same time zone.

Hi Fred,

Thank you so much for sharing this with me, it sounds like it would make for a fantastic story. Unfortunately our April issue has already gone to press but we can work it into our May/June or July/August issue. I actually think I know of the perfect person to write your story and will contact her so she can begin working on it in the next couple of weeks. What would be the best way to contact you?

I would also like to mention to you that we are always looking for people to advertise in the magazine, we distribute our magazine for free and run solely on funds we receive from advertising. I believe our summer issues might be the perfect place for an ad for your cruise line. Your decision to advertise or not obviously does not determine whether we run with your story, please do not think that. I just thought I would pass that information on to you. If you feel you might be interested, I would be happy to get you more details.

Thanks again for contacting me with your story!

Will there be a story? Pics to follow.

Freed
