Reading another book by the Sailor Ahhhhhhhnnnnnnnn (Ann Vanderhoof-Owner of Receta Sailboat)
I feel like I'm in Grenada. She is talking about the bus & riding toward the Spice Market...I'm just smiling & reading.

I read "Spice Necklace" first. I believe "An Embarrassment of Mangoes" may have been written first.

Maybe I'll learn about the 100's of kinds of mangoes too :D

"An Embarrassment of Mangoes" was her first book. I liked "Spice Necklace" more as I guess I got more info from it...like buy nutcakes from Barbell in the Spice Market, etc. Both good reads!

I loved both books and have them now on my coffee table just to remind me of the islands. I loved 'Mangoes' best because more of it was based in the Grenadines. It was just so real - I know those folks and all the sites they visit.

Mangoes was an incredible read, I haven't read the second but would recommend the first to anyone looking to be reminded of Grenada!

I read An Embarrassment of Mangoes years ago but not sure what happened to my copy. I've now downloaded it to my Kindle so I can re-read it!

I love reading this book. I feel, like Kay, I can really relate. It's a feel good book. I want to go meet Dingis & his family. Has anyone ever crossed paths with Receta?
