Carl - That language is in there "just in case" something suddenly becomes mandatory.

No, there are no vaccinations needed for any of the islands the ships of Island Windjammers visit. Just follow the suggestions from Island Windjammers and notes Paul and others have offered regarding a good quality insect repellent containing DEET ... and remember, it doesn't work if you leave the container in your cabin, so apply regularly.

I personally like the moist towelettes because they fit easily in a pocket or backpack, and they go thru TSA without issue. Your mileage may vary ...

There are no required vaccinations. Just be sure to take and use sunscreen, mosquito repellent with DEET, and sea sickness medication if you have the tendency to get car sick/sea sick, etc. I prefer bonine to Dramamine as it doesn't make you sleepy. For the sea sickness meds to work, you have to take it before you sail not when you start feeling seasick. Have fun guys!!

I think we have the sunscreen & DEET issues covered. Just rain in Chicago when we leave, so we won't need to worry about delays from snow! (Quite unusual for this area with March Madness going on!!)
Just can't wait to board the Vela!!!! Looking forward to relaxation, good food & drink, & meeting friends who we haven't met yet! See you soon, friends!
