Just finished reading Cussler's THE CUTTHROATS. Very good read, indeed.

Stumbled onto a new-to-us author, Brad Thor. Another quasi-military, political intrigue thriller writer As good, I think, as Cussler and not as overbearing on the technical aspects as Clancy.

Picked up Thor's FOREIGN AGENT and Cussler's THE EMPEROR'S REVENGE for Bill for Father's Day .... the minute he puts them down, I'm claiming them!!

if you want to read a good Navy submarine series try Rick Campbell. Once you start you can put it down.

An0ther on is a series by William Hammond. There are now 5 book out with the last one due out this fall/winter. It is about a family (Cutler series) of seagoing and Navy and takes places from @1750 - 1820.

both of these authors I highly recommend

Thanks. Always looking for good books as we read instead of watching tv.

Just finished John Grisham's latest Cameo Island. Think he's slipping.

I have signed copies of Rick’s books and am going to a book signing and party July first, to get another.
Rick gives copies of his books to submarine reunions and other organizations. Nice guy!

I am looking forward to reading the “Cutler” series by William Hamond. Thanks Paul.

This is a review I wrote for our Diablo SS479 newsletter about another series of naval adventures:
“A Fine Retribution” by Dewey Lambdin. It is an Adam Lewrie adventure and the 23rd in the series. I have read and enjoyed them all. The series started with a young man going to sea with the English navy in the late 1700 hundreds, He has now worked his way up to captain. These are wonderful sea stories with humor, adventure and some outrageous behavior, just like sub sailors.

I am reading Rick Campbell third book right now. I have chatter with him on facebook. William C Hammond book are available in Amazon or USNI if you are a member. They are published by USNI and that tells you that must be good. I plan on reading the whole series again once the last one is released.

dewey Lamblin books sounds like the Cutler series or the Patrick Obrien books. I have read all of the Patrick Obrien series too.
