Early this morning Hurricane Irma hit Antigua and Barbuda. They have not been able to access the damage yet due to the flooding and high winds.

She is currently approaching the islands of Anguilla, Sint Maarten, and Saint Barthélemy and is currently 35 miles ESE of Sint Maarten.

Positive thoughts and many prayers for those in harm's way as she continues her destructive path.

Photos and already being posted of the storm in St Maarten and St Barths. Super sad when I look at them and see places I've walked, sat, visited, etc. all with damage or flooded over.

Quote:
French Interior Minister Gerard Collomb also said that government buildings on the island of Saint-Martin - the most sturdy built there - had been destroyed.

"We know that the four most solid buildings on the island have been destroyed which means that more rustic structures have probably been completely or partially destroyed," he told reporters.

Lotsof pix and descriptions here: so, so sad.

Sad is putting it mildly. It genuinely hurts to see the wreckage from Irma's wrath & having been in many of these places makes it even worse. I for one will be donating to relief efforts both here in the U.S. & the Caribbean.
