Diamant checked in at Roseau and dropped off some items. She's heading to Portsmouth.

Does anyone have an update on Dominica's infrastructure? Power/water/etc?

Sandra, do you have idea of the schedule change for the FWI ports. I wondering since I am doing the 12 day FWI/windward sail in Dec. Guessing Dominica might be cancelled but will llse de saintes and maria gallant too. I see the Vela has 4 weeks of 6 day sails in FWI in Nov before I get there. I am figuring worst thing for us would be matinque and than the rest of the time in the Windward. That's ok too. Figured I ask Shannon in mid Nov as I get closer. Thanks

Paul as far as I know the only island in the FWI that will not be on your itinerary is Dominica. Martinique is my least favorite island, and 2 yrs ago we went there on Vela. But not to the main town but a very nice little beach for the day. Lots of paddle boarding, swimming, etc. Quite nice so don't give up on Martinique. Guadaloupe and Isle de Sainte are open for business. Be sure to take the volcano tour on Monsterrat as it was very interesting.

My best advice to you is go with the flow.....you'll have a great time wherever you sail. Let it be a pleasant surprise to you. Remember the Captain makes plans based on weather, etc. so you never know where you'll go for sure.

Ditto what Sandra said; "the captain only knows"

Thanks as always for the help. I as just trying to do some research before the trip using trip advisor, pinterest and google. the windward I have been there twice and have that somewhat learned. Just haven't been to FWI. Got the fishing rod and books to read laid out. I am ready for another adventure and another Mac Pizza. Plus it is lobster season too in Dec. Again thanks. Paul

It sure is nice seeing Montserrat an the itinerary again. And if the Martinique village is the same one Vela stopped at in April 2016 it is another example of bigger isn't always better.
